A new computer. Gah. So it isn't my monitor that is the problem. Thank you so much staticwhite for giving me another monitor :), but I'm having the same problem with yours as well. :/

I was thinking of getting a new graphics card but that could be $100-250 and my system is so old I'd probably have a hard time finding one that is compatible with it. So I may as well throw in the towel and join the 21st century.

bah I liked having an outdated computer, I never get viruses. ;)

So now I have to decide whether I want a desktop or a laptop and then on to the real annoyance; trying to configure a new computer, I haven't done this in 6 years. *eep*

While you can find a new low-end video card for about $100, it's probably not worth it if your system is so old. I'll give you a hand in setting a new comp up if you need help.

hey Drew, would you mind if I emailed you the two systems that I configured for your opinion? I know you having no way of knowing what I need/want but I just don't want to get something useless while I pass over something that might be good.
Dell has this email your system feature.

One of my co-workers was trying to help me a few days ago but he was getting macho on me, he was acting as if I was looking for advice on buying a car. geez.

I have four configured now :?. co-worker dude talked me out of a lot of the extra software that he says I won't need. I like the TV option. it sort of kills 2 birds, I don't have to buy a TV or a dvd player. I can't upgrade the video card though. And I wanted to get a good one. hmmmmm
I want to call their CS but the last time I did I nearly had a nervous breakdown trying to explain to them that they have two keyboards that are priced the same, so there must be a difference between the two? They didn't understand this concept. grrrrrrrr
