Has anyone heard from Emma? She deleted her journal last week. Several of us have emailed her and have not gotten a response. Someone else told me they sent her a text message but didn’t receive a response.

I’m really worried about her.

Emma if you can read this please let us know you are okay.

I really, really hate when I hear weird noises in my apartment and think "oh it's just the cat" and then I see that my cat is asleep in her usual place.

if I where creative I'd put up a poll- "what is making that weird noise behind me?"

bored...

...aka this not having a tv is really working out... aka I want my bookworm status back!

(am I teeveed out? say it ain't so!)

Wednesday night (last Wednesday) I sprained my ankle (ouch, ouch, ouch!!!) and have been for the most part stuck at home. Since I’m limited as to what I can do I have been on a dvd binge.

I have so far watched-

All three seasons of Lost
Three seasons of Doctor Who
Two seasons of Life on Mars
One season of Twin Peaks
And one season of Torchwood.
I didn’t watch the x-files because I scare easily, have very limited mobility and if the aliens come to get me I’d have no defense.

When did I stop reading books? I don’t even think I have the attention span anymore.

When I had the flu a few years ago I asked for book recs (and I got 'um!) in a feverish frenzy I went to B&N and bought 5 books; I read all of them. (well almost all of them The Cryptonomicon was good reading with 102+ fever but once my fever broke I couldn’t read it maybe my reading comprehension is better when my body temp blasts past 11? or maybe that book is best read when in a state of delirium).

So I'm stuck in my apt again and bored...books...dvds..books... anything!

Read any good books lately... anyone?

How in the world did I get "composer", "athlete" and "comedian" as my first, second and third "career"?

I've never done anything musical, the closest I've ever come to being athletic was watching a baseball game and comedian? No, just no.

Some of them are spot on, I did try to become a dancer and I worked in a greenhouse.

I keep forgetting to post this, I have set up alternate journals at IJ and GJ

http://requiella.insanejournal.com/

http://requiella.greatestjournal.com/

I'm not leaving LJ but I'm a fandom whore and need my fix. I have book marked some of your accounts at the alternate journals so if you see yourself friended by "requiella" it is me.

If I haven't found you on IJ/GJ it means I don't know what your new name is or if you have migrated, so please leave your linky here.

Also if anyone could get me a http://www.journalfen.net/ account I would give you my bottle of storyville , my first born.

ETA- damn that was fast! http://www.journalfen.net/~requiella/

MY COMPUTER WILL NOT LET ME PLAY DISC 3 AND 4 OF DR WHO! I NEED A CAPTAIN JACK FIX. WHY MUST MY COMPUTER TOY WITH ME SO?
requiella: (elmyra)
Yes my new modem is not working. It seems like every time we have a lighting storm my modem breaks.

as usual- I have very little Internet time at work (although today I'm in a different terminal so hopefully it will be slower ha I just checked my work email and I have 172 unread emails, yeah they like to keep us busy)

This is my first time online since Sunday, The withdrawal is terrible!

as usual part two- I won't have any Internet access fri/sat/sun but if my Internet withdrawal gets to bad I will go to a nice air conditioned Internet cafe or I'll buy more books any excuse to buy books. ;)

...and I'm really glad my mattress is on the floor.*

I got season 4 and 5 of the x-files. My weird computer dvd player will only play certain dvds and will spit out anything it doesn't like.

Why oh why couldn't it have kicked out disc one?

The episode is called "Home". Seems harmless enough. The blurb doesn't really imply anything to scary. So in it goes.

*ACK*

I should have stopped watching when the legless mother was giving bloody birth on a dirty kitchen table or when the inbred family beat the sheriff and his wife to death, or when they pulled hideous, screaming, legless mother out from under a bed...oh wait I did stop watching then.

I did a google search and read that it was the only x-files episode to get an "MA" rating and the network said they would never show it again (they did).

Apparently her sons kept legless mother strapped to a rolling board *under the bed so they could procreate with her and carry on their inbred family line.

The episode is interesting, it's just not something I should be watching in a dark, quiet, new apartment.

So now I'm going to watch Harry Potter and try and get the image of the mother out of my head. *shudder*

Such a dramatic subject line!

A few minutes ago my retina burning monitor had somewhat normal colors. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] staticwhite and her giving me a new monitor I was able to use my old computer :).

But a few minutes ago my computer went wonky again and when I rebooted I didn't get the blue screen of death...I got a red one...yay for gothy red! (or so I thought...)

But now everything is bathed in red and pink.

Red I can tolerate but pink!!!!

Oy.. I think this may be the end of my computer :/ The money I saved to get a new one is going to broker fees.

Oh wow the pink is taking over! I'm not a pink person!

ummmm..., Tora,Tora,Tora!
I feel like I am in Hello Kitty land...

Being stuck at work during the Mets Dodgers series is driving me crazy. No radio or TV.

There isn't a damn TV in this whole terminal that is playing the game! *pulls hair* WTF! International terminals suck, if I where in the domestic one it would be on all the TV's.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

*goes to refresh mlb.com*

I become fascinated by the weirdest things. Someone posted a link to this web-cam-
http://www.bbg.org/vis2/2006/titan/webcam/index.html

I can't stop clicking on it.

"You can watch the rare blooming of Amorphophallus titanum, the "corpse flower".
Rare even in its native Indonesia, only 14 Titan Arums have ever bloomed in the United States. "Baby" is a five foot tall yellow blossom who could open up to its full fetid glory at any moment.."

"fetid" apparently it reeks. I want one!

Happy 4th of July y'all, as I stated elsewhere I'm working today. *sigh*

Pity me! or send cupcakes! =)
Buttery goodness.

I've been on a cupcake kick ever since those guys that work at a bookstore that is near Magnolia Bakery gave me cupcakes. *squee* *yummy*

In the meantime I have been consoling myself with Pirates Of The Caribbean M&Ms.

I'm eating the ones that have little skulls on them. Argh!!!!

A new computer. Gah. So it isn't my monitor that is the problem. Thank you so much [livejournal.com profile] staticwhite for giving me another monitor :), but I'm having the same problem with yours as well. :/

I was thinking of getting a new graphics card but that could be $100-250 and my system is so old I'd probably have a hard time finding one that is compatible with it. So I may as well throw in the towel and join the 21st century.

bah I liked having an outdated computer, I never get viruses. ;)

So now I have to decide whether I want a desktop or a laptop and then on to the real annoyance; trying to configure a new computer, I haven't done this in 6 years. *eep*
