I really, really hate when I hear weird noises in my apartment and think "oh it's just the cat" and then I see that my cat is asleep in her usual place.

if I where creative I'd put up a poll- "what is making that weird noise behind me?"

naa, don't worry, they're harmless.
Unless you're a sock, in a pair. They like to steal single socks, that's why socks seem to disappear and you end up with mismatching socks.
